Where It All Started: Benson’s Hide-a-Way, during UFO Daze

Judy was 67 at the time of her encounter. She was 69 at the time of the interview.

Saw a cigar shaped ufo

What was the Time, Date, Season and Weather? What were the lighting conditions at the time?
Eve of summer solstice, June 20, 2019

How long did your encounter last?
Maybe 5 minutes

Where did your encounter take place? Can you be specific to a County, City, Street or Landmark? What direction were you facing?
Hwy HH and Hwy J in Whiting WI Portage County We were traveling South on Hwy J when we first saw it. It was very bright and then it was gone. We turned the corner to go west on HH and it was back. Then gone again.

Were there other witnesses? Would they be willing to tell their story?
Yes. I will have to check with her.

Was your encounter or a similar encounter documented in the media?
No

What were you doing when the encounter happened?
Driving my car

How did you feel during the encounter?
Just amazed at what I was seeing

How did you feel after the encounter?
Still amazed. My friend was not sure what to do about it and if we should tell.

Did the encounter affect your life?
Not really except it confirmed that amazing things are real

Has your view of what happened changed over time?
Not really. I have always been a believer in such things

Are there any other details you would like to add?
No

Were there other encounters in the area before or after yours reported in the media or seen by people you know?
Not at that exact spot but others have talked about seeing lights and things in the part of the state.
